A Few From Early in the Year

As I was cleaning up my computer and organizing a little, I came across a few of my favorite pictures of my first ever Engagement session and Wedding. The engagements were so much fun! Valerie and Ian were open to pretty much all of my ideas and had a lot of their own to throw it- which was great! But oh boy, I was terrified for their wedding. I had never done something important and "un-pausable". After my fears started to dim, I got so many great shots. Since then, I've a done a few more weddings and I have to say, even though they are not my favorite things to shoot (by far), I love doing them. Sharing such special moments with a couple is such a rewarding thing. I have to thank my sister, Sarah and her best friend, Amanda for getting me the opportunity to take Valerie and Ian's photos. It helped me grow so much as a photographer in training and as a person.

 

Some Favorites From 2011

Alrighty, I am so excited for my first photo post! I have so many, so I am going to do this somewhat strategically. This first post is going to be some of my favorites from 2011.

The here and now.

Well, this is the new and very much improved blog! I am determined to actually post once a week and keep everything up to date!

So there seems to be so much going on here. Two very, very long weeks ago, I started my Photography career at the Academy of Art University. I am madly in love with this school! It is absolutely amazing and totally lived up to all of my expectations and has completely exceeded them, too! It feels SO good to be back in school! But, oh man, it is kicking my butt! It's not that it is hard, I actually thought it would be tougher. It is just so dang time consuming. So I have two classes. I get an assignment every Monday which includes at least one picture and discussion, plus reading and a quiz- for each class. The last module needed ten photos for the one class. And then, there could be more. It just depends. Oh and the reading, there is SO MUCH reading. Well all of those assignments are due Wednesday. Then I get the same thing- ish on Thursday and everything is due Saturday. It just seems to take up all of my time. But, I really love school! I feel like I am learning so much already.

Curtis and I recently moved into our own apartment. It is so great! Curtis is working and the hospital in town as a CNA. And he is starting school at ISU, for Pharmacy, in the Fall. I am so proud of him. We are in the middle of wedding planning, except I haven't sent much time on it lately since school started. I am doing photo shoots, coloring hair, and even designing business cards and invitaions for people. It has been great!

Well, the reason I recreated my blog is because I want to be able to post photos as I take them and, hopefully, get lots of feedback. I am off to bed now since it is 2:26 in the morning and I am finally starting to get tired. So before it goes away, I am going to try and take advantage of it! (Plus, I am frustrated with people, so I should go before I start ranting about them.) I can't wait to post my first group of photos sometime later in the week. I am so glad I got this done!
